Hi Dotty, I hope that you are still around. I have overcome anxiety. I think that people are anxious because they don't feel secure. Pretty simple. I would assume that something is making your son not feel secure? I grew up not feeling secure for various reasons. One thing that helps children feel secure is having a parent who is in charge. I am not talking about an overbearing parent. I am talking about a parent who isn't afraid of taking charge. When a parent is in control, a child feels so secure. Many parents don't take charge because they don't want the child to dislike them or they had an overbearing parent and never want to be like that, to name a few reasons. If a parent doesn't take charge this is very scary for a child because they feel that they are in charge then - scary! There is a balance. I listen to my children but I don't negotiate. This would give them too much power.
