Question dizziness, left side numbness, but not a stroke

I am writing for my fiance who had an episode recently that took him to the ER. Horrible dizziness, room spinning, massive headaches, facial numbness and general numbness on left side (arm and leg). He has had a CT, arterial CT, MRI, EKG, Echo etc and heart and brain are normal. This came on suddenly with no warning, although he thought back and had been experiencing the facial and left arm numbness for 2 wks or so.
The headache, facial numbness and mild dizziness are all that's left of the symptoms after 3 wks now, but we still have no answers about what happened, how to address it or prevent it happening again or what MDs to see if it resurfaces. Can someone please give me some avenues to look into?
Much appreciated!
Jen
