well, I think I'll open my mouth a little bit more tonight and then just up for awhile...

lately, spirituality has been the talk almost everywhere I've run into...

mostly, I think people mix religion with spirituality with self-awareness and all the other things.

I think they are good crossovers and yet can be different when it comes to the question of "GOD"

I married a wonderful wonderful wife. She is a "Christian" but she is not the type of Christian that says unto others, "if you don't believe in Jesus Christ, you'll go to hell."

I have a very good friend who is Muslim. He says, "Allah is a word that means, God. It doesn't mean "Allah" it just our word for "God" A Christian in our native land of Pakistan would say "Allah" but it just is a word for GOD"

with all these hates today, it is easy for us all to forget that in the 4th and 5th and 6th century, Christians, Jews, and Muslims all got along great and were all working together making great advancements in science, medicine, and techology. It is the fanatics of the last 100 years that have separated them...

I don't practice any religion. But I am a spiritual person. But I always tell my friends, if I pray with them, I am sincere in all my heart, and that I simply ask them to accept me as I am. My wife does, but then again, some might call her faith NOT strong enough to have married someone who is NOT a Christian.

Yet, my wife is one of the most wonderful Christians I have ever met in my life.

BJ in a recent post says that her pastor won't accept that her cat has gone to heaven but yet she doesn't want to leave her church that she loves so much. I don't think you have to, BJ. I think your cat IS in heaven and that as long as you strongly believe that, that it IS true.
Your pastor might not like chocolates, or footballs, or believe in chewing gum while he walks. And you might not agree with everything that he says, but it doesn't mean you have to leave where you are most comfortable at. I think EVERYONE has the right to disagree, as long as they respect the other person's right to believe in what they believe in. As long as that person doesn't kill or maim other people. LOL

doody, I am so glad you've finally found yours, I believe yours is something special and I hope you know that I am so very proud of you...

I feel like I am at peace and at the best place in my life spiritually in my life right now...

I have a lot of folks to thank for for that. Even the ones that have berated me...I needed them to help shape who I am today, although not much, still a spec on this green planet...

I don't care for Michael Moore, he is too extreme on the left. I don't care too much for Sean Hannity, he is too extreme on the right. But if one is to dissect them, one would find that they both share more common grounds than differences, they just believe in OPPOSITE things---passionately...

all the verbal wars that has been going on lately in the political scene, it is easy to forget that we are all fighting for the same country, the same planet, we all just have different views on how to go about it...but boy, really wish it would end soon, eh?

I guess Mother Teresa was right..."if you believe in something strongly, then no matter how much someone disagrees with you, you do it anyway...(parapharsing or as they would say in the literary world, sic{side side bar, everytime I read some writer using "sic" I always thought they were having a writer's hiccup. LOL})

well, after all the mouthing off, I still have learnt nothing...oh well, live and learn...LOLOL
