Dear Minymo,
Thanks for your post.
I'm sorry that I was sort of cryptic.
I have no kids of my own, thank God.
I don't understand ceremonies. Something about them bothers me. Well for one thing, I get very anxious having to sit in a controlled environment with lots of people around
. . . and this one was going to be outside in the Florida sun. . . .
I never went to any of my own graduations: hs, college, other degrees after college....
The only graduation of my own I went to was kindergarten. I remember that I recited two poems of Robert Louis Stevenson.
I still remember most of the first one:
Quote:
How do you like to go up in a swing, Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall, Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all over the countryside.
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown,
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

The other was "I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me. . ."
That kindergarten event should have been my last graduation. That was my plan.
Life turns out funny.
