Strange, I posted a response to you earlier today, but it's not here. I'll try again.
I know that folk with fibro sometimes get sensory neuropathy. Presumably, all those gummed up trigger points can press on nerves, or on blood vessels bringing nourishment to nerves, and this can cause the damage. So that's one real possibility.
But also, people with fibro get a lot of plantar fasciitis. That makes standing incredibly painful, and movements of the ankle which pull on the bottom of the foot hurt tremendously. I think the foot is tender.
I had plantar fasciitis many many years ago, and it hurt like hell, way more than the pn ever did. I was given an injection of a steroid into my foot, along with an anti-inflammatory, and that cleared it up very quickly.
But another thing which produces the type of problems you're having walking is spinal stenosis. I don't know your age, or whether you have any arthritis of the spine, but this is very very common, and if you google it, you can find out more. Basically, causes you to lose strength in your legs the longer you walk. Other symptoms are the basic neuropathy symptoms in the foot, back pain. When it's severe, bowel and bladder problems. It's diagnosed by MRI.

PN, plantar fasciitis, and spinal stenosis are all possible in someone with fibromyalgia and autoimmune issues. And spinal stenosis is missed all too often, so it's worth pushing for the mri if you have any of the symptoms of it.
Have you seen your doctor? It sounds in order.
Good luck,
