I have osteoporosis and although my medication is a different one to Fosamax, it does the same thing.
The listed side effects of heart attacks and osteonecrosis of the jaw do scare me quite a bit, but my doctor tells me I have more chance getting murdered than getting these side effects. Hmmm!
What else do I do, especially when I've broken 6 bones in 5 years, and if I were to break a hip I may never walk again? Also, the chance of death from pulmonary embolus after a major fracture is very high, so how do you make the choice of whether to take the medications with all their related risks, or do you go without and take the risks that go with osteoporosis and the ensuing fractures?
