Then as I see it by your post, when someone gets lost unintentionally due to a snowstorm or an accident or their airplane has a catastrophic engine failure and crashes and a search and rescue mission is launched, they should have to pay for that mission? Even though their tax dollars and fees have already been put into a fund earmarked for this? I don't think so.

Are you implying they should just be left out there if they cannot pay for the Search and Rescue Mission? That's just ridiculous.

If a skier or snowboarder goes off trail (a marked trail) and the Ski Patrol have to go looking for them, that's a totally different story. Those fees are asked to be reimbursed.
