I've long maintained that one of our problems is that our brainwaves lose their baseline and thus their ability to function. The right music restores order to the chaotic system and we function. I suspect the same thing is at work when we climb stairs or step over a line. Maybe when we wear a loose band too.

In a finding that contradicts current theories behind Parkinson's disease, neuroscientists at Duke University Medical Center have discovered in mice that critical nerve cells fire all at the same time and thus overwhelm the brain's ability to control the body's movements.
