Fantastic! I love Wintley Phipps, the first time I saw him perform was with Sandi Patti and wow! The two of them totally filled every nook and cranny of that theatre with amazing grace.
There's a wonderful and important back story to the song, Newton was also spiritual mentor to William "Wilber" Wilberforce, one of the first white, British abolitionists. He made abolition his life's work and was often physically ill from his difficult, long fight.
There is a movie of the story aptly titled, "Amazing Grace" and it's definitely worth renting it for more of the story.
Thanks, Alffe, this is a major part of world history in so many ways! ><>
