homemade lard is very useful in cooking and baking...

we dry-rendered it, so it's totally pure, as safe as butter... and makes GREAT pie crusts !!

the deep-fried pieces are highly caloric, and VERY high in sodium, so I tasted only a few, and let our helpers have the rest...
