I've known they were 50% mercury for a long time. And, I've been suspecting the amalgams for causing SOME of my problems for awhile.

I had 3 of my 12 (or is it 15??) amalgam fillings removed in March. The amalgam fillings are cracking my teeth, and NEED to be replaced, so I'm slowly getting them removed. The ones I had removed in March were the first batch.

I got really sick after having those amalgams removed, and my right foot went totally numb for several months after that (feeling is just now coming back)

I think I got sick because there was a lot of infection in those 3 teeth and the dentist thinks that I must have touched my tongue to the teeth and some of the ick got into my system. I had a pretty big fever for about a week.

I'm still getting the rest of the amalgams removed, because I have to. I'm just making sure I have about 6 months between each removal so that I have time to recover from the stress and mental trauma of having to go to the dentist.

My dentist told me that my amalgams were high mercury (apparently if they really discolor your teeth, there's a lot of mercury in the amalgam) The 3 teeth that got done are now white and pretty and no longer feel like they're about to crumble into dust.

When I get the others done, I'm making sure I've got an antibiotic going, just in case I get another case of the icky infections escaping from one of my teeth.
