well, it would end up being a very rough estimate - and i would do the calculation conservatively, erring on the side of low estimates.

tufts somehow came up with the number $800 million to bring a new drug to market, and that involves clinical trials - so it is possible to use averages or *something* to come up with ballpark estimates. maybe i should look up that study...
