I have given up a couple of things but replaced them with things that taste similar and give me the fix I need. The whole secret is appropriate portioning and knowing when you're actually hungry. What feels like hunger may actually be: 1) stress; 2) boredom; or even 3) thirst.
There are also guidelines for intake of water, fruits and vegs, grains, etc., that also help combat hunger, and if you're like me and have hypoglycemia (or diabetes), and you have to eat 5 or 6 times a day (which is how I got so heavy in the first place

), you can spread your points across the day any way you want.
