Hi,
I had my aneursym clipped, but I know a bit about the coiling. It is normally performed under light sedation or general anesthesia. They usually go up through the femerol artery at the groin to place the coil and stent. Recovery varies, but I'd plan to be back at work within 4 weeks. Most people return for follow up MRAs or arteriograms periodically to check to make sure the coils haven't gotten compacted. This usually doesn't happen, but if it does they can add more coils. Be sure to get your rest and not to push yourself while recovering. You may have headaches, you may not. Hope things go nice and smooth. Just think about leaving that hospital with that aneursym taken care of!
