Vonn:

I have always had a cell phone, and I never did the monthly contract thing. I buy a prepaid cell phone and add minutes when I need it. There are Trac Phones, there are phones by Verizon. There are a whole bunch of pre-paid phones. They are called disposal phones around my neighborhood.

You pay $20 for the phone. It comes with 30 minutes already on it.

I then take $50.00 and put 4 hours worth of minutes.

These minutes expire in 4 months. This is the best thing I have ever done. I need a cell phone for the access a ride bus, or for when I'm in the store and I have to contact Alan.

But I would never do the monthly $39.99 contract thing because of all the hidden charges and taxes, etc, they hit you with. And God Forbid you want to break the contract.

No, for me, the pre-paid cell phone is the way to go.

I hope you can find one in your local Radio Shack, or local phone store.

We have them all over the place around here. The signs on the stores all say "Pre-paid phones sold here".

Hope this helps.
