AUSABLE FORKS, N.Y. -- A man battling Lou Gehrig's disease rode in a bicycle rally Saturday that honors a man who recently succumbed to the disease.
Participants in the second annual ride and rally rode through The North Country to remember Johnny Nixon, who died last year.
"This community is unbelievable. We couldn't have gotten through it without everybody and we're going to be there for Don and his family also," said Kathy Nixon, Johnny's mother.
The event raises money and awareness for the fatal disease.
The 100-mile ride traveled through Ausable Forks.
