And you can shift without even using the clutch at all -

you listen to the rpms {revs} of the engine and get into the "shift zone" and when the rpms are just right you can change the gear to the next one.

it's a bit of a trick but once you learn it it's pretty easy
some cars do this kind of shifting easier than others

I learned it on my brothers motorcycles
