WOW, first, let me say I hope you feel better quickly.

This could be an ear infection. The pressure that builds behind the thin membrane known as the ear drum can build up and when the pressure shifts, it will release an air bubble. Like hearing your knees pop when you rise from a chair. it can be quite loud. It would also explain your temp, and fatique.

Water can become trapped in the ear from baths or showers, and build up pressure over days. If its trapped between the layers of the inner ear, it can get infected.

Do you have walk in clinics in your area? Can someone at least take a peek at you?

Even if it turns out to be nothing, just having someone look at you can help releive truck loads of anxiety.
