I can one up you on this one!!!!! I went into a Whirlpool parts store becuase my oven wasn't working right. It was burning the stuff on top but wasn't cooked in the middle. So I bought a new heating element, had to unplug my stove which isn't easy, remove the old heating element and put the new one in. It still didn't work.
So I poked around to try to find out what was wrong. My dear husband had put the oven on broil which that was probably the first time it had ever been there. I just took for granted that the oven was on bake. So I had to take the brand new heating element back to the store cause the old one worked fine once I knew all i had to do was put the stupid control on bake.
There were a bunch of men just standing around but I didn't care. I just told them my story, got my money back and left with my head held high. I was proud of myself that I took care of the problem myself and not called a repairman. My husband knows that if something is broke or has to be built, just let me do it. Those pieces of furniture that come in a box in a million pieces, if I left it for my husband to make, he would just start putting pieces together without looking at directions first. But he knows that I leave all the tightening of things to him. So I guess I can't do without him.
