lol, Frank!
mi esposo JUST brought me a nice steaming mug of coffee, with a dollop of fresh goat's milk, right as I was reading your post...
we're really late starting the day here, as we had to clean and wrap 150 lbs of cabbage, and 50 lbs of carrots, and get them into the fridge...
it's so HOT here that if the bags are left on the porch, they have a nuclear MELTDOWN, I swear !!
then, we had to UNBUTTON the whole house (open ten shutters, and tie up all the mosquito netting) as the hatching nests of "Flood Flies" have finally abated.
it's AMAZING, this is my FOURTH rainy season in Belize, and every OTHER year, there was only ONE hatching, after the first big rains...
but THIS year, so far, we have endured SIX separate termite hatchings and massive SWARMS... it's so weird, like Iowa having TWO five-hundred year FLOODS recently... and here in Belize, bridges washed out that were designed to withstand 100 year floods...
at this moment, the ENTIRE southern half of Belize is CUT OFF to through road traffic, and one can only get there by boat or plane, as the rivers are so high, and several roads were wrecked, and bridges wiped out in Tropical Storm Arthur last month.
and then, we had to move some ducky-moms on nests, and do some little errands, and a neighbor girl came over to help me sweep and mop...
couldn't do anything while the floor dried (my whole house and porch are tiled)
so, breakfast - fresh organic free-range
duck eggs, with sliced 'n' fried
Kevin Bacon, and greens (
Callalou - sorta like spinach) from the garden, yummy yummy yummy, I can SMELL the cooking going on whilst I "rest up" at the computer...
PS: kiddies, I think BOTH my goats (Leeloo and Lilah) are preggers... cross yer FINGERS !!
