there are a few ways to clean out your hard drive
click START
go to Programs, then to Accessories, then System Tools, then Disk Clean up
follow the prompts and read the descriptions of the sections to be cleaned
then click the More Options tab to see if there are any programs you don't use anymore or can live without
I don't clean out or mess with the Restore point - it's a safety net
You can also go to Control Panel and use the Add/or Remove but it only removes programs doesn't do the Clean up.
After the cleaning is done then do a Disk Defragmenter
you can also download something like a system optimizer that will help you with the cleaning
there are free and trial programs
here's a nice place to find programs - be sure to read about them and read the reviews - and understand as much of it as you can before running programs like these.
