I've done mosaics for about 6 years now. My first project was a kitchen table - it was either tinker with it or toss it. Since I've done oodles of bird houses, tables, magazine racks, mirrors, shelves, stools, picture frames and stepping stones. Tables and frames are my favorite.
I did the bar counter in my kitchen and the downstairs bathroom counter.
I prefer to use plates that I find in thrift stores. Finding just the right plates is nearly as fun as completing the project. I almost always use sanded grout as I just don't like working with unsanded.
