The IgA anti-tranglutaminase test is somewhat correlated with degree of villous damage, so it's likely that unless you get a very expereinced pathologist, they willnot notice extensive atrophy on biopsy.
But that does not mean you do not have celiac, or a wider gluten sensitivity.
Did they do the anti-gliadin IgA and IgG tests? these are less specific to celiac, but often people with gluten sensitivity show isolated elevations in these, often without gastric symptoms (yet), but often with other neurologic or autoimmune symptoms.
