Default Poem: "Sarah"

This was my first attempt at cavalier poetry written while intoxicated for a girl I convinced myself I was in love with. I don't drink alcohol anymore, but I think it really brings out the talent in me.

Sarah
- D.J.M. (myself)

Thou princess of Heaven and loveliness,
Shall I pray for a bottle of time?
We will stroll together in moonlit quietness,
A picture more beautiful than our rhyme.

Blessed am I with thy starry eyes
To make my heart as light as a feather.
Your hair – long, silky, and sweet;
More heavenly then the midnight skies.
Please! Please do not retreat.
Sarah! Softly lay in my arms forever.

No sun shines without thoughts of thee;
This time passes, alone, yet I am in bliss.
Magical nymph you’ve enchanted me with thy powers.
With our bottle, please understand and follow me.
Some things fade, so it’s your mind I want to kiss.
Sarah! If life was but a second, I’d love you for hours.
