Default question about handicapped placards??

Does anyone know the answer to this.

Can you use a handicapped placard in more than one car? Meaning, can the placard be taken from one car (by the person it was issued to) and used in a different car?

When we got my mom's permanent handicapped placard, we used my car as the one it would be used in.

Today tho, I'm getting tired of my dad hitting the house with my car because he has to use my car to take my mom places. (just about ripped off my right side car mirror. for the THIRD TIME!) I heard the mirror hit the side of the garage, and thought that something had hit the house. My dad had parked my car in the garage earlier, and for some reason, he was pulled over so far that I had to do some rolling back and forth with my car before I could get it out of the garage after he hit the house with the mirror.

There are now scratches on my car door and the mirror. He's done this before, but last time he majorly scratched the right side of my bumper and the front side panel in addition to nearly ripping the mirror off the car.

My mom said the door scratch was not there when she got in the car.

My dad is MAD at me now, because I'm ticked off that my mirror now cant be adjusted very well. He's the one who's slowly wrecking my car. (he's hit 2 cars in our driveway before with his own car, and somehow dented the right front panel of his car in a parking garage)

He's had cataracts fixed, and that was probably the big reason for the damage to his car. But, he's had both cataracts fixed, so why the heck is he whacking my car apart now too? (to be fair, I hit the side of the garage once about two years ago going into the garage because I had optic neuritis and my depth perception was off, so I can see how it can happen)

I just want my car to stay in good shape so that if I ever have to sell it I can hopefully get a decent price (not likely to sell, I'm planning on driving it till it wont go anymore)

If my mom's handicapped placard could be used in more than one car, then it woud be easier for us. I wouldnt have to give up my car all the time...plus, my mom's bad knees are improving since we started making her exercise to get stronger. She still has a bad back and asthma which make the placard still a needed item tho.

I'm emailing the Nebraska DMV because their website doesnt clearly explain if the placard can be used in a different car or not. I was wondering how other states handle it.
