I have severe allergies too, but have made huge adjustments over the years.

Natural cloth does not need a fabric softener as they don't "do" static cling. Since I also have an allergy to petroleum based products (such as synthetic fibers) I buy as much cotton as I can (slight blend to prevent having to iron.)

Try rinsing your loads twice to see if that will eliminate the cling, as it's can also be caused by the soap. You can also use some vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser. I can't use any powder detergent as it doesn't dissolve completely and builds up. I can use ERA or FAB diluted.

I went to the gel packets for the dishwasher...no dust to breathe! Vinegar in the well (instead of the commercial products) produce spot free items.

Eucerin or Aveeno are the only two named products my allergist suggests for skin care.

BTW I haven't had hives in a very long time, but regular oatmeal (not quick cook) in a sock (tie a knot) & soaking in a tub (with person of course) will ease any skin irritation.

You can wash any and all fruits and veggies with apple cider vinegar. It takes all the pesticides and germs (and light wax on apples) off, and rinses clean too.

I became allergic at age 3, before they knew of such things. Countless times I nearly died. They don't know how I lived without being in a bubble. I've learned the hard way, and can share many things here over time.

Keeping track for at least 2 weeks is a great place to begin! This means EVERYTHING (and is a real hassle!) WHAT toothpaste WHEN? WHAT food WHEN and with WHAT spices etc. EVERYTHING... tic tac? Did you sense someone wearing cologne? At what time during the day?

Then also to keep track of symptoms, what and when. (I'm sure you know that food allergies most often present at night, during bedtime. Unless they are anaphalaxic which is immediate. (Like I have to anything but fresh out of the field strawberries... any preservative gets me.) Inhalents often cause an immediate reaction.

I also have "medicinal" allergies. That includes chemicals my own body makes... I had to stop singing in the choir because, as I figured out, I enjoyed it TOO much and it dumped happy chemicals into my system and caused breathing difficulties and subsequent depression.

Allergies can make you feel crazy, as I guess everyone reading knows. I did go through a kewl type of allergy testing and desentization. Since I was "brittle" regarding my reactions, no one else was allowed to be tested at the same time. But I also knew of a lady who's only reaction to her allergies was a heart attack! And there were 2 deaf children that came down from the north who were deaf due only to allergies and regained most hearing after being desensitized. So there's hope.
