Bobby thanks for posting this...
I truly do believe that many later stage PALS..are less depressed than they were at the intial diagnosis..
As the article says with technology people do cope much better with even very limited abilities...
I know that it is true in our case...as my husband was much less depressed after the disease progressed as he adapted to it..than that the time of diagnosis..
It is sad that some doctors may assume you have a low quality of life and are depressed..just based on limited abilities alone..
My husband is fortunate in that respect as they are more than willing to extend his life as long as "he" feels he has quality...Lisa
