??Are you ok??
Jewells,
Sweetie...are you Ok?
I went back and looked through some of the last threads you posted on...and I don't see what you are talking about? Maybe there is something going on "off forum" or something....but??? I am at a total loss?
So..I will stick to what I see here and what I feel. Ok?
First...I really hope that you are Ok, and that this isn't depression sneaking up on you making you feel badly about things that other wise wouldn't make you feel that way. If that makes sense? Second....I really hope that you reconsider leaving. If there IS something going on off forum....then put that person (or persons) on "ignore" and you don't have to hear another word from them again. You won't see any posts from them, and you won't get any PM's or emails through the forum from them. None at all. Not while they are on ignore. If it is something else...then I don't know what.
You brought up SCS here in your post? You have had good experiences with the SCS. That is something that folks need to know about then they come here and ask questions about it. I think that part of the problem here might be that you feel kinda sorta out numbered by all the folks (myself included) that have not ben as fortunate as you and wound up having less than pleasant or beneficial experiences with the SCS. Am I at least a little bit right there?
The thing is, is that statistically, as more time goes on, it is just seeming that this is how it is working out with SCS patients. But, it means that it makes it all the MORE IMPORTANT for you to put your voice in for the people that have been presented with the SCS as an option and are needing to get info about other patients experiences with it. Otherwise, all that they will hear is mainly BAD stuff....and that wouldn't be right, either. That wouldn't be right, because there IS that percentage out there that the SCS is JUST RIGHT for, and that will be the miracle thing that helps them as much as it has helped you. Without your voice here to tell them that there is that possibility, to give them ALL of the info, and ALL of the sides of the story.....they cannot possibly hope to make as informed a decision as they would be able to if you were here, posting and helping by adding the benefit of your experience.
I myself don't feel the need to post about my SCS experience all the time anymore. That is because I have the misfortune to be in the group of folks that it didn't work for....and I really, really wish that it was otherwise. I also always wonder if it needed to work out that way, because I KNOW that my old pain doc had a lot to do with the outcome of my SCS experience. He implanted the wrong unit in me...and stapled me shut. Not a big thing usually...unless you have a metal allergy and are allergic to the surgical steel, as I am. GRRRRR. I was doomed from the very start, you see..so, in lots of ways, I feel that MY experience isn't "normal" or one that would be beneficial for most folks to hear about....because of extenuating circumstances that most other people wouldn't have to deal with. However, if there ever was a person on here that had a metal allergy and was considering the SCS...I would have lots to tell them (like YES, it is possible to get one! To contact the company, they can do lots of things to help. And to do everything within your power to MAKE SURE that your doc isn't a DumbA## that puts the WRONG unit in there and messes everything up! GRRR! LOL).
Also...I feel that sometimes, there is a little bit of "over kill" going on with the "SCS is BAD" stories. I do understand that folks want to tell their story, and they want to try to warn others to try to save them from having the same experience that they have had....but sometimes all of them start to run together. So, I DO understand where you might be coming from, being at most times the ONLY voice saying "Wait...this can be a GOOD thing! It has helped me! Listen to what I am saying, too, Please?" and might feel ...well...over run and overwhelmed.
Am I right?
Like I said...that just makes it all the more important for you to tell your story! I don't know if I missed something some where, but I can tell you, that if you decide to stay, or decide to come back after taking a "Break" or whatever...and I EVER see anyone treating you badly just for staying "The SCS has been a good thing for me", because they have had a bad experience with it themselves...they most certainly will feel the ruff side of my tongue! I don't like that kind of crap...and as everyone already knows...when I do post, I have lots to say, and that kind of thing will get me riled up and I will...well....pretty much have lots to say the entire time that I am telling that person off, and telling them exactly where to go and how to get there!
And..I don't think that I am the only one, either.
So...will you please reconsider?
If you have something else going on, and you are feeling badly and overwhelmed...Sweetie..We are HERE! All you need to do is just say "Help! I need a shoulder" Or a life preserver, or whatever...and you got one! That is what we are here for, and what we do best. So, please...don't just go away with hurt feelings, and make a lot of other folks feel all confused about something that they don't understand at all....come back, and talk to us and let us know what is going on, and if you are ok, and what we can do to help you feel better. Ok?
We are here...just don't forget that, whatever you do.
(((Hugs)))
