Head injuries are hard to live with they have unseen effects, short term and long term. I have lived with one for over 30 years. I'm sorry this happened to you. Retrograde Amnesia is not uncommon. This is a type of Amnesia one develops where one does not remember anything leading up to the event, nothing previous. I lost a complete day, the accident I had was in the evening. I do not remember anything from the morning of the day till I woke up in the hospital a few days later out of the coma. CSF can leek as you describe, as for the symptoms getting better, only time will tell. Sometimes with help the brain may rewire itself to compensate damaged areas, kind of going around the damaged areas. But the areas that may take over are not as strong as the original areas and can breakdown if under stress or another concussion takes place.
