I despise shoe shopping and clothes shopping. Yet that is exactly what I did today. Actually, I did some of it yesterday through the Coldwater Creek catalog (expensive, yes, but I like their stuff and it's a wedding!).
The wedding for my kid is on Friday. It's a backyard wedding, so it's casual. Guys are wearing khaki pants and white shirts. Last year, my daughter got married on the beach. It's not as informal as that--I wore a sundress for that one!
The things I liked in the catalog were only CATALOG items, so being stupid, I ordered each thing I liked so that I could try them on and find ONE thing I liked.
Help me out here. Tell me what you think! I have a tendency to stay away from bright colors. And what I was leaning towards, the ladies at the store told me I shouldn't wear although they said I looked nice in it. It took 4 of them, but they picked an outfit out (and jewelry cuz I don't really have any to speak of) and then they forced me to go get shoes that would fit the outfit.
This one looked blechy:

I liked this one (fishy dress):

They liked this one but said it was too fall and that I shouldn't wear it (skirt set):

And this is what they picked out for me (their choice):

The two ladies at the store said they hadn't seen anyone who had looked nice in that top and that I was the first. And there was an older man there with his wife who said that it looked really nice on me.
But....... but........ it's so BRIGHT!!!

I don't wear flashy colors. see:

Do you think I could get away with it?
