I took Trazodone for sleep too for a while. My pdoc prescribed it. I had to stop taking it because it kept me extremely tired and made me severely depressed. After a long period of time I became almost suicidal.

The same happened with my mother and with my fiance though he didn't take it long enough for it to make him quite so depressed.

This may not be the best med for you right now. You are also going through withdrawals. The four hour sleep period is about average for almost all sleep aids. 4-6 hours is all you are going to get. With psychotropic sleep aids there is a tendency to have a hungover feeling which can include sleepiness, depression and other side effects.

You may want to try something else like Restoril, or Ambien even.
