Default my boring diet

Bizi,

I eat cheese about once a week. Otherwise my food is plant based.

Hubby makes black bean soup. . .with canned beans and onions and garlic. Sometimes he throws in some greens.

I bought some little pink lentils from an Indian store. They cook up quickly.

Here's an average day:
Quote:
--Most of the time I eat canned lentil soup or split pea soup two or three times a day.
--Then I have some cooked veggies like broccoil or green beans. Sometimes I add store bought spaghetti sauce for flavor
--And a serving or two of fruit.

I am useless in the kitchen. If hubby cuts up watermelon, I eat that. If he doesn't then I eat some grapes or an orange.
--I eat nuts too somedays.
'Not a big fan of tofu but if we have it in the house, I make a cold sandwhich with millet bread and sliced tofu with mustard (bread from the health food store).

According to the book, Eat to Live, I am supposed to be eating more raw veggies -- like two big bowels of Romaine lettuce each day. I'm still working on the lettuce part.

If am out, I buy some veggie California rolls at the grocery store for a treat.

Sometimes at night, I eat 2 cups of rice with soy sauce and olive oil. Hubby usually has leftover rice in the fridge.

When I'm in the mood for something besides lentils or split peas, I have toast (millet bread) with a little bit of peanut butter on it. Hubby has been buying the freshly ground peanut butter at the grocery store.

Hubby has been buying avocados too. They are delicious cut up and drizzled with lemon.

I really don't cook or fix anything. I have to scavenge or coordinate with hubby to find something to eat.

It's hard to eat out. Chinese and Indian are ok about non-meat but I have to find stuff that is low calorie too. One time at a steak house I ordered a dry baked potato and a salad.

I think my next step is to eat more raw greens like Romaine and be more diligent about taking my vitamins.

And I log all my points in my Weight Watchers tracker on-line. And go to the WW meetings once a week.

The most amazing thing is that the emotional eating has gone away. I hope that that continues now that work has picked up again.
