Thank you for posting the links; they're useful...
... only, being dependent on anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-whatever software to keep up-to-date on the definitions supplied still leaves us at a disadvantage. They must be on top of the prob., or acting in anticipation, in order to provide the latest defnitions.
Saturday, I was told as I was told 10 years ago when viruses (sp? - the plural) brought my ol' computer to a screeching halt: No protection software is 100 percent failproof.
I never expected that a news site would be the spreader of malware, but that was the last site I visited and my machine crashed completely.
I'll likely never know the name of the malware, since a post-mortem on the machine is not looking very probable at this point.
If someone has the time, energy and skill to craft a malicious application, I wonder what the heck is wrong inside that person's mind that leads him/her to cause such destruction to people who have never caused them a day's harm. Pigs!
From here on out, I'm only visiting sites that have created no probs. for my computer(s) in the past. Until sites can guarantee that destructive codes are not embedded, I'll stay away.
As I mentioned in a different thread, all of my anti- whatever software apps. are up-to-date. It didn't matter.
