We have a contractor just like this. He turned out to be a very good friend and sometimes does things for free. Yea, we have to do things on his time but his work is really good. He's also my neighbor and lives behind me. But oh let me tell you when he first worked for us we had so many fights you'd think we were married! I think I fired him twice before we settled on a better working relation. lol

Like you, I didn't have the energy to interview new contractors that would most likely come in and say he did the job wrong or something. I am glad we worked it out.
