Default Lumbar Punctures

I had an LP performed as part of my MS diagnosis. It was a positive test with obands present.

I also tested positive on MRI, evoked potentials, and blood work ruled out all else. I also had several neurological episodes over a period of time to choose from for the diagnosis.

My question is, since I already tested positive on all tests for MS, would another LP be required at any point? What may cause a second LP to be requested? Or would they simply skip this test, since it was a clear diagnosis otherwise?

(I could see going for a second opinion that an LP may be required, but assuming I'm with the same neurologist).

I'm just curious. My LP experience was not very fun at all (spinal headache landing me back in the hospital).
