Actually, there was no real need for the first, since they don't need to do one unless they can not find what they are looking for in a MRI. In your case, you had enough evidence already.
The only other reason you might need one again in your lifetime, is if they are looking for something else, like meningitis, leukemia, lymphoma, mycobacterial infection, or for doing some treatments like a bone marrow transplant.
