Only my older kitty will eat moist treats also he is the only one that will eat ANY kind of fish..LOL

Have you asked the vet about the loss of apetite?
I'm just guessing here,but it could be brought on by missing his previous owner..
Not sure what to tell you about that...I would suggest some reading for you though,since you have only had dogs in the past..Cats are soooo different,as i'm sure you are learning

You could just google"cat behavior" or anything else that comes to mind.The internet is an abundance of info..

I don't think he is mourning the loss of anyone at this point. I have had him for nine months. His original owner had him for three months and then could not care for him due to severe cancer. He then spent a few weeks with another neighbor (male) who did not really fool with him. He was well fed, watered and the loo was kept clean but that's about it. This was only to be a temp. situation until they could find him a forever home.
I KNOW cats are not dogs but this guy is such a cold character. He refuses to sit on my lap. He will not come when called. If he wants his neck and chest robbed, he will come within a foot of me, then ly down. I must go to him. What a man. I have NEVER heard him purr under any situation. He will vibrate softly while I am rubbing his chest.
He is eating well now. He had a problem with nausea for a few days and just took it easy. He remained well hydrated. He will only eat dry kibble so it gave him a bit of trouble for a few days.
I must keep the bathroom door shut now. He sprays the inside bath tub wall whenever he gets a chance. I second litter tray did not help the situation. He never sprays or "goes" on the floor, walls, drapes etc. I keep him with me in the living room and he seems reluctant to do that sort of thing in there.
He goe s back in to be micro chipped and a complete physical. The vet is going to check him for urinary problems but doesn't think he has any. I must give the little devil his dues. He never acts out while I am asleep. Best wishes.
