I was at work when it happened. I was a mutual fund accountant, so we had CNBC on TV's across the building.

Someone came running saying that one of the towers was on fire. We were all grouped together watching from that point to when the towers fell. The surprise watching another plane hit the second tower, the disbelief as the first tower fell. I still remember the shock I felt and the tears I shed that day.

Since our building was down the road from the airport, our managers decided to let us all go home. I kept the news on the tv off, because I didn't need to see it over and over again like what happened with the challenger accident. Luckily, my hubby's work let him come home early too.
