I am no stranger to diet coke, I have drank it all my life... but in lower quantities. I have been drinking it every day the last month and a half & often 2 times a day. I have had a suspicion that it's causing me some harm lately. Yesterday after drinking a can I started feeling dizzy. The other day right after I drank a can I had a bad headache and my dysautonomia started acting up, after being at bay for months. I also notice that I am really craving the stuff. I don't know if it's the caffeine because I don't drink coffee, or the aspartame, or the carbanation that I find so irresistable. Needless to say I have become addicted. Today I am only drinking bottled water. I had a very bad night last night of very active nerves after I drank a can.

I read alot about aspartame, but I don't know how much is fact and how much is drama. I wanted to know if anyone else has had any similar issues and also what opinion you have on the stuff.

I don't smoke or drink alcohol anymore. Nor do I indulge in food. The diet coke seems to be my one last human indulgence. Also suffering from PN, I am not certain if these things wouldn't have happened anyways.

Please... any thoughts?

Thank you,
Aussie

Hi. just wanted to put my two cents in.

I wouldn't use aspartame if they paid me big bucks. Read all about it.
Didn't like what I read.

I used Splenda with no adverse anything but then I found STEVIA. That was it for me and Alan.

And you'll be happy to know that they are coming out with products with
Stevia, only they are calling it Truvia.

so be on the lookout (eventually ) for diet products made with Truvia.

And wait until you hear what the yogurt people did. I used to buy the Light and Fit from Dannon. it had splenda and it had 60 calories and it was nice and light and had the probiotic thing going on so it was all good.

WELL THEY CHANGED THE FORMULATION. At least in my neck of the woods. Now you can't find the 60 calorie product anymore. They changed it and now there is both ASPARTAME AND SPLENDA in the container and it now has 80 calories.

I read absolutely every label before I buy ANYTHING. They hide aspartame in everything. (Kind of like when they used to put sorbitol in everything).

The other day I was in NYC for my monthly Cornell examination. I went to the Food Emporium to buy some things. I passed by the employee who was putting some new Weight Watchers product (snack cakes) on the shelf. I said "do you know what it is this stuff?" She said "no, but it's only 100 calories". I turned the package over and said to her "count the ingredients". I think she stopped at 70 or so. She said "holy cow, what do they put in these diet things?" I said "I don't diet, and I don't buy ANYTHING without reading a label".

My god, they are trying to poison us all, (that's what it seems like)
