Default An empathy day

Today is one of those days where I really "feel" disabled, and I just want you to know that I have great empathy for those of you that feel that way all the time.

Most of the time, I'm "moderately" disabled, I guess you'd say. I use a cane or a rollator when I'm out and about, and I'm toast after mid-afternoon. I drop things and my cog fogs, but I still drive and walk and see and work (for now) and function in a mostly "normal" way. At least to the casual observer.

Today my brain is on empty. My hands, legs and arms are weak. I feel sleepy and jittery at the same time. I couldn't walk a straight line to save my life.

I'm overwhelmed at the idea of ironing a couple of shirts, and if someone needed me to drive somewhere, I'd have to say no. I've probably accomplished a total of an hour's worth of things I can cross off my list, and I'm exhausted. Drained. Pulled through a knothole backwards, as they used to say.

I just can't imagine feeling like this every day of my life instead of just some of the time. My heart and prayers go out to you that do.
