If you step down to a lower level or part time, and you have STD and LTD available to you at this job, then you will only make a % of your current salary if you have to leave the workforce. I guess I made that mistake because I stepped down from very high paying Sr Mgmt job to reduce the stress, and when I eventually went off on LTD (which pays me till 65 yrs old), my income was very small compared to if I had gone off when I was a manager.

Did you say you are the manager? If so, could you change your own job description so that you are serving customers or doing something much less dangerous, and give the cooking job to someone else on staff?

No I don't have any std or ltd they don't offer any benefits just good pay. I would take a drastic pay cut if I stepped down. But at the same time I know that I could have less stress. Yes I am the manager and wanting to step down to assistant but like I said big pay cut.I just don't know anymore I know I should listen to my body but at the same time the bills just keep coming.
