Vowel Lady, the last line of that poem just cracks me up too. HUA gave me the number of a woman who apparently is very good with helping people train their dogs, and over the phone! I have no clue what that is about. But I'm supposed to tell her that I adopted from HUA.

Bruna just drives me nuts in the toitey training department no matter how much time I devote. And I am sure she must know better! They aren't dummies!

Speaking of dummies, I even have the Dachsunds for Dummies book.

Dottie, I almost got 2 low-riders but I'm glad I didn't, not at that time anyway. I was overwhelmed at having the responsibility of a dog when I first got her. A lovely HUA volunteer took Bruna into her own home to socialize her after they first rescued her from the puppy mill she had been in almost 3 years. However, given that low-riders are STUBBORN and hard to train anyway!...and her definite lack of training after 3 years in a tiny cage, well....I have a little stinker on my hands, LOL.

Another thing that really doesn't surprise me about her. She's not typical when it comes to bed cuddling. She really doesn't know how to 'tunnel', not at all in fact. She doesn't smoosh right up next to me in bed and always ends up on top of the covers. I feel for her during the night and find her that way, and she is very cold, but I guess maybe she's used to extreme temperatures. So I pull her close, cover her up, she lets out a long, low groan and goes back to sleep, lol.
