I have no right to answer you at all .... it's just that I've never even heard of a guard like yours.

I wear mine all day and all night .... I remove it only when I need to chew something .... something like food.

For me that guard is more important than my tri-focal glasses!
It's some sort of, I think, hard, clear acrylic, that my dentist measures my upper teeth for and then has made. It takes me between hmmmmmm 6 months and 2 years to bite it to pieces and have to have a new one made.

Does your dentist supply yours? If not, have you thought about talking to your dentist about making you one?

I'm wishing you well .... I'm wishing you a good guard. I know how valuable they are.
