I agree with Frank about the hot spot, is it near the heat register? Is this her first winter indoors? If so, that could explain a lot. Also, she could have gotten on the bed to be near you for warmth.

Our cat Rocky started sleeping next to me as soon as the nights turned cooler. Also, he lays directly in front of the heat registers when the fan is blowing warm air out into the room. I would look at those spots and see if they're near a source of warmth or sunshine. Or maybe there's a spider or cricket nearby that Puddin' is keeping an eye on.

Cats are hunters and heat seekers by nature, so hopefully that's all that's going on and your baby is ok.
