Hi Nick. Thanks for replying and I wasn't happy. Not your fault though. Let me back up. For three years I've been taking 2mgs of klonopin for restless legs syndrome and for 3 years have not had one night time of restless legs. I decided I didn't want to take it anymore because of the side affects. I'm 68 years old and about 3 months ago I started having speech problems, slurring, stuttering and not being able to get a word out at all. I was unsteady on my feet and staggered. Sometimes I almost fell. We were going away on a holiday for the month of August so didn't want to start titrating until we got back. So in September my Psychiatrist put me on one and a half mgs of klonopin. The above symptoms have worsened some what. My G.P. wanted me to have a CAT scan which I did and received the results, "normal aging brain". He reffered me to a neurologist and he ordered an MRI. When I went to see him and got the results he said I had two areas side by side on the cerebellum part of the brain and that was the cause of my speech problems. There was nothing that could be done except speech therapy and that might not help. He then said he would notify me in one year to have another cat scan. Let me back up again. The psychiatrist said that once the klonopin was completely out my system all the side affects I was having would go away. I'm going to see him today so I will see what he thinks about the neurologists opinions. This is the first time in my life any tests on my brain. Thanks for reading this Nick and would really like to hear your response. Sincerely, Jane JonesJones
