Lightbulb Hi vini....

The B12 thing is more complex than foods.

For example, people begin with age to not break B12 out of meats and other animal sources well, because of low stomach acid or lack of intrinsic factor (which normally carries the minute microgram B12 around).

It is suggested by NIH (this is on the net at their website) that people 50 and over take a separate high dose B12 supplement.

Those of us here for years...have used 1mg methylcobalamin which is the activated form of B12. Many other vitamins use the synthetic version called cyanocobalamin, and some people fail in being able to convert this to methyl form which is the only form your body can use effectively. Also B12 supplements should be taken on an empty stomach. Only a tiny amount from that 1mg (1000 mcg) will be absorbed as a rule.

Some neuro problems have been discovered to show low B12 in CSF. (Fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis)
