There is one other option this could be, Laura. My youngest (who eats too many carbs ) got the white patches in her mouth, and a really sore throat, last Winter or Spring. I treated her with Acidophilis and rinsing her mouth faithfully, but it wasn't budging. I think it took me several days to finally take her in the doc, and she was swabbed for strep. I never heard back from them (assuming it wasn't strep then), but the doc said there was some kind of virus going around that was causing this. I didn't believe her, but she said it should let up within about 10 days from onset . . . and sure enough it did.

I kept treating her with the thrush home remedies throughout that time too though.

She said her throat was terribly sore too, which is why I started thinking strep after several days.

So, it might just be that virus finally made it to the east coast.
