You can have both Epilepsy and Non Epileptic Seizures, and
like Ginny had posted, it can be maddening!

I have to imply with this fact here - consider this from the
other side of the fence, I've had abnormalities, sub-clinicals,
clinicals, epileptiforms, normal, yadda, yadda, yaddas ... on
EEG's ... and my Scans from all sorts are all abnormal; and
I'm Dx'd as "Epilepsy, intractable" - with a long list of specific
types of epilepsies...

NOW - try to get a Doctor to treat me is, well, you might as
well go and bang your head on the wall; because that is
about just as far as I've gone! MADDENING!

  • It's asinine to be misdiagnosed!
  • It's insane to have 1 EEG run and it comes up "normal" and be insulted by being slapped in your face as "it's all in your
head" (or some other type of rude remark)
  • It's crazier when you've got tons of stuff lying before them and they don't do anything about it!
  • Or they blame it on something else, with an attitude of not wanting to be bothered!

Do you feel alone? You shouldn't! There are
tons of people out there ranging from hairs
standing on the end of their skin to their faces
turning beat red in anger out of dire frustration!

And meanwhile ... they seize!

There's a huge STIGMA in this area, and it's sad
as well as scary, that one must fight to be treated
or one must go great distances, just to find a
Neurologist or Epileptologist to be treated properly.

So the question is ... "While yes it is possible for one
to have both Epilepsy and Non-Epileptic Seizures, but
due to the response and attitude per se of the posting
I question the overall Doctor's report ..."

I strongly recommend for a 2nd Opinion or for
another Neurologist or Epileptologist, it may be
time for a change!
