Default Good news

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share some exciting news from this weekend. I've been gradually reducing my steriods and I'm currently down to 40 mg every second day. I've noticed a difference the last few mg so I think I'm going to stay here for awhile - I'm terrified I'll end up back where I was this time last year! BUT, this weekend my husband and I were spending the night at a hotel in Glasgow. We were on the 10th (and top) floor when the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. Obviously during a fire alarm you aren't allowed to use the lift so we had to go down the 20 flights of stairs. Now I'm not sure if it was the adrenaline or what but I experienced no weakness at all on the way down (I don't take slow release Mestinon, so it had been about 6 hours since my previous dose - long enough to be out of my system). Then after standing outside in the cold waiting for the all-clear we made our way back up the stairs (the line-up for the elevator was crazy) I managed all flights unaided and only had to take one short break to regain my strength. Unbelievable! Anyhoo, just wanted to share my success story. I'm not 100% yet, but certainly feeling so much stronger than before.

I meet my new neurologist the first week of December so that should be another step forward.

All the best to everyone! And Erin - I am still working on "my story" I haven't forgotten you!
