Default My cousin

I'm actually doing fairly well, but wanted to pay tribute to my cousin who passed away yesterday.

She had a glioblastoma. It is a large, cancerous brain tumor. It is the same condition that Ted Kennedy is suffering with.
It started as a smaller brain tumor almost a decade ago, However, very recently it grew to this larger tumor and was re-classified. She has two adult children. Her husband and children are grieving terribly as is the rest of the family and her friends are as well. She was on the "younger" side.
She fought very hard and very bravely to live and surpassed doctors expectations. It was a learning experience in many ways for myself and others...perhaps in the coming months I will write more in various areas of this site.

However, one thing I wanted to mention is that I went to visit her about two weeks ago. We live many states apart. I have never done anything like this before. I do think this was a positive experience for all concerned. She was already in a weakened conditioned, but she seemed appreciative of my visit and could understand me and reply with brief answers. Her family seemed most appreciative.

Right after I left, I sent her a special "care" package, based on what I learned during my time with her. They say she loved it.

Tenatively, there will be a brief memorial/life celebration service and I will not likely attend. However, I already feel a sense of closure forming and I am happy with my decision to visit with her prior to her passing.

Prayers would be greatly appreciated for her spouse and children. I know they are hurting very badly.
